Hawthorne, California – On Saturday, June 1st from 10AM – 2PM Dream A World Education, Inc participated in the Take Part In Art Festival spearheaded by P.S. Arts in the South Bay.  The event took place at  R.H. Dana Middle School in Hawthorne (5504 West 135thStreet, Hawthorne, CA 90250). The event featured performances, amazing artwork, and art booths with fun projects from P.S. ARTS, Diavolo Dance, reDiscover, Arts for AllArts for LA, Dream A World Education, Inc. and more.

TAKE PART  drum circle - Dream A World EducationThe festival served approximately 1500 families and children who were bused in from South Bay Schools to be inspired by a wide variety of art forms represented by each organization.

At the Dream A World Education booth children created their own Young Masters headdresses. They identified something or someone for whom they were grateful, drew a picture of what they identified and attached it to their headdress along with a customized decoration of their own design.

Next to the booth, with drums and percussion generously on loan from REMO, our very special Kenyan teaching artist Anindo Marshall facilitated a drum circles throughout the day.

The booth was facilitated by our own board members Diane Kabat, Irene Ayala,Kay Dennis and Executive Director Bunny Hull.  It was an inspiring day for everyone involved.
