Champion of Children

Dr. Michelle Windmueller, a member of our Advisory Board, is a force of nature. Plain and simple, she is a blessing to us and to all children in our community. We first met Michelle when she was the Principal at our partner school, Selma Elementary in Hollywood. She later went on to become a Lead Instructional Director at the LAUSD prior to her retirement.

As a career educator, Michelle believes in arts education for all children.Dr. Michelle Windmueller When she was the principal at Selma Elementary School, she brought Dream A World Education (DAWE) in as the Kindergarten/First/Second grade Arts program. DAWE essentially changed and accelerated the students’ oral language skills, their socialization and their participation with each other and the school community.

“I believe that DAWE belongs in ALL schools and that it is the most outstanding program for young children. Students with special needs Student with "smiley face" icon.fully participated and showed growth in all areas of their learning! It is a fundamental right to have the arts be a part of the total school curriculum.” The parent component added a new way for parents to participate with their children and Michelle saw the change it made in the students and their families.

Thank you, Dr. Michelle Windmueller, for working with Dream A World to give children opportunities to dream big!
