Bringing SOTH TV to Ghana
Sylvia Morrison, an educator, author and humanitarian, made her first trip from Canada to Uganda in 2006. By 2009, she had traveled to Togo, Benin and Ghana and founded the nonprofit organization, Links Across Borders (LAB), which facilitates educational programs for children in Ghana, West Africa. Links Across Borders has built 8 libraries and supplied over 70,000 books and other educational resources to communities in Ghana. Thanks to the efforts of educator and PBS/KLCS “Everybody” host, Dr. Angela Williamson, Dream A World Education and LAB are collaborating to bring Secrets of the Heart TV programming to the LAB library in the Volta Region of Ghana. Sylvia, whose long-term plan is to establish programming in each library, said “finding this program is a dream come true.” LAB is seeking additional resources to train staff to facilitate programs in each of the other libraries. DAWE is very excited about this partnership!
