After 25 years of managing an advertising agency and being a community lay leader and volunteer, Diane entered the professional world of non-profit in 2000. She became the first Social Action Director for Stephen S. Wise Temple, orchestrating all community outreach programs for the temple and all of its schools (Nursery-High School, and including Religious School). Along with bringing Mitzvah Day – a Day of Community Service to the Temple in 1995, she created and still teaches “Young Farmers” at one of the first lay-led community gardens for Los Angeles Jewish day schools and synagogues. Since retiring, Diane serves on numerous boards, including URJ / RAC Commission on Social Action, and Jewish World Watch and the Solar Cooker Project which provides genocide awareness and relief efforts into our world’s most affected areas. Dear to her heart now is serving the mission of Dream A World Education and the children in our underserved Title I schools in the Los Angeles Area.
Bunny Hull is Founder and Executive Director of Dream A World Education. Bunny is a Grammy® award-winning songwriter and vocalist who began working with children in 1994 and changing the trajectory of her life. Hull is creator of all curriculum, and author of the award-winning original music, and books used in Dream A World Education’s programs. Having run, since 1979, a successful music publishing company, BrassHeart Music, and then in 1994, a book and music imprint, Kids Creative Classics (later becoming Dream A World®), Bunny’s next step was to launch Dream A World Education, Inc. She guided its path as it became a viable non-profit in Los Angeles. As an arts advocate, she traveled to Washington D.C. in support of the Child Art Foundation and the Grammy Foundation, joining National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) representatives to promote an increase in National Endowments of the Arts (NEA) funding to members of Congress.
As a songwriter Hull is perhaps best known for hit songs like 2008 Dove Award Winning song READY FOR A MIRACLE and Grammy Award Winning NEW ATTITUDE, which catapulted Patti LaBelle to the top of the charts in 1986 for appearing on the Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack. Hull has earned more than 20 gold and platinum albums with songs and/or as a vocalist appearing on albums with Michael Jackson (Thriller), Quincy Jones, The Jacksons, Celine Dion, David Foster,Vanessa Williams and on soundtracks and in films such as EVAN ALMIGHTY, BRUCE ALMIGHTY, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, LOSING ISAIAH, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, LEAP OF FAITH, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and K9. Her television soundtrack credits include NBC’s THE TODAY SHOW, OPRAH, SESAME STREET, ANY DAY NOW, CHARMED and THE SIMPSONS, to name a few. A life spent as a professional artist with a dedication and love for educating children brings a unique richness to Hull’s work that’s hard to match.
Irene P. Ayala is a graduate of UCLA Law School who has worked as a federal criminal prosecutor and a civil litigator with the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is also a former commissioner with the Los Angeles City Community Redevelopment Agency and a legal commentator for television. Her current practice includes arbitrations and administrative hearings in the public sector. However, she became a member of the Board of Dream A World Education, Inc. because of her experience as a criminal defense attorney. Her clients were often juveniles and adults who came from backgrounds lacking in positive values. Their poor choices affected not only themselves, but their families and communities. She realized she could make a difference for future generations by supporting Dream A World’s elementary school arts programs that instill confidence and self-esteem, foster creativity, and encourage goals at an early age. Together with her contributions to organizations such as Homeboy Industries that works with former gang members, Irene believes each person can bring about positive change, one child at a time.
Kay Dennis Robinson comes to Dream A World Education, Inc. with a thirty-year background in entertainment as a professional singer and actress, having appeared on screen, stage and Broadway theatre. Kay has been accountant for Dream A World when it began as Kids Creative Classics in 1994. She has served on the board as treasurer for Dream A World Education, Inc. since 2009.
She brings all of her expertise and joy to be part of this wonderful programming.
